Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) is better known under her real title Ari Lennox is an American musician and singer born in Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist affiliated with J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. Her debut EP Pho, released was released on the 21st of October, 2016 and was released on Dreamville Records. The singer began to earn recognition. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. The album was released on May 19, 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music online in the year 2012, when she released her debut mixtape Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. The singer continued uploading her music online in 2014 and released her own single Bound. In 2015, she was featured on Omen's Elephant Eyes Album on Sweat released on the 21st of July. J. Cole had her sing her songs for the Dreamville Team in the following year because he was hoping for Rihanna to collaborate alongside her on some of the songs. Her announcement to be signed by Dreamville Records was made on the 8th of December. Backseat, a track she sang together with Cozz on her Revenge of the Dreamers II collaborative album. The 21st of October, 2016, she released her debut EP called Pho. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's song Change and was an opening act for the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in 2017. In 2018, she appeared as a guest performer on two songs, with the EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song as well as Bas's Icarus. On July 16 2018 Ari Lennox released the first single, Whipped Cream from her debut album Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video that was released on September 5. Then, on the 9th November she dropped two additional singles called 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). The 13th of November, she released two more singles called No One as well as Pedigree. She then appeared on the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track titled Shea Butter Baby on November 16th. She released the single on February 26, 2019, for her debut album the same title. In February of 2019 a music video was made available for the track. The track has received more than 3 million hits on YouTube within its debut week. She was one of the support acts for 6LACK in their From East Atlanta With Love Tour during December 2018.
